Physical Intervention Training

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at those who have a need to use physical intervention as part of their job. 

Whether you are a door supervisor looking to refresh their skills and keep up to date or a company who has identified a need for their staff to have some knowledge in how to deal with refractory/ non-compliant customers to ensure your staff and the customers safety.

What you will learn on this course?

During the physical intervention training you will be taught the laws surrounding the use of reasonable and necessary force, the medical implications and risks surrounding using force as well as low level, non pain compliant and non restrictive techniques that you can use. 

Course contents

·  Laws surrounding the use of force

·  Medical risks and implications of using force

·  Practical techniques to escort persons as a single person and also as part of a team

·  Communication and de-escalation techniques during the use of force 

·  Reporting and recording incidents of any use of force

Course length

This course can be run as either a 1, 2 or 3 day course depending on the needs of the learners and their prior knowledge and understanding.


Ideally learners will have a basic understanding of conflict management training prior to the course however if they haven’t then they would need the 3 day course. 

For those in the Door Supervisors role already then the 1 day refresher course would be sufficient.

Assessment

The course will be assessed by the instructor and will be done in the following ways:

·  Question and answer sessions throughout the course

·  Practical techniques and training 

·  Group work

Certification

Learners will receive a certificate of completion and competency for their attendance on the course.
