Who is this course for?

This 4-day online/ classroom ‘Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (RQF)’ course is designed to equip new Security Officers with the knowledge and practical experience required to join the ‘Private Security Industry’.

If you are looking to be employed as a Security Officer in commercial premises, construction sites, hotels, shopping centres, festivals, or private residence, this is the course for you.

First Aid

The SIA have stipulated that you Must be in possession of an approved First Aid Qualificationwith a minimum of 12 months left to run, on the first day of the course. If you require a First Aid Course, please inform us at the time of your booking, or check our upcoming dates for our first aid courses.

First aid course

Course delivery

This course is 4 days in total and delivered using blended learning. Days 1-3 are held online via zoom in real-time and day 4 is held in the classroom. You will also be required to register and complete a short online video assisted eLearning course and complete a workbook, which is required to satisfy 8 hours of distance learning for the ‘Principles of Working in the Private Security Industry’ module.

Course content

This course is made up of 3 modules:

Module 1 - Working in the private security industry

Module 2 - Working as a Security Officer within the private security industry

Module 3- Conflict Management

Assessment

This qualification is assessed by practical demonstrations in the following:

conflict management
searching
completion of an evidential statement
completed workbooks
3 multiple choice exams.

The workbooks and assessments are marked by your instructor and your exams are marked by the awarding body.

For each exam you must achieve a minimum of 70% correct on each exam to pass. Practical assessments are pass or fail.

Qualification

Successful candidates will receive a ‘Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (RQF)’ qualification, which sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
