Security Officers Refresher Course

This Level 2 SIA Approved Security Officers Refresher training is a compulsory 1 day additional training in order to renew your SIA license.  The SIA has changed the way that Security Officers Licenses are renewed from the 1st of April 2025.

This 1 day classroom ‘Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (Refresher RQF)’ course is designed for Security Operatives who currently hold a license from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a Security Officer and need to be bought up to date with the NEW Licence Linked qualification requirements.

 The SIA have stipulated that you Must be in possession of an approved First Aid Qualification with a minimum of 12 months left to run, on the first day of the course.

This course is a 1 day classroom based course.
You will also be required to register and complete a video assisted eLearning course – ACT (action counters terrorism) this is part of the self study work for  ‘The Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry’ module as well as Self Study for Principles Of Working as a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry. 

This qualification is assessed by 1 multiple choice exam and practical assessments in searching and the use of communication devices. 

This course is made up of 1 unit:  

• The Principles of working as a security officer within the private security industry. 

Principles of Working as a Security Officer multiple choice exam - 28 questions - 71% minimum to pass

Practical assessment in Searching and the use of communication devices. Pass/fail - assessed by the tutor. 

Successful candidates will receive a ‘ Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Industry (Refresher RQF)’ qualification, which sits on the regulations Framework (RQF).
